The Originals Ch 19- Reaper Spaceman and Dwarf

"Zach! Stop doing that, please!" Lalna jumped as Versa's first student practically begged as they appeared in their shared room. Ridgedog had spun to look at the elf who was smiling wide, his finger still up after poking. "Versa! Tell him to -"

"Boys!" She snapped, making all three of the men in the room separate and look to her quickly. She sighed, going over to the table in the corner putting her hands on it. She bent over it looking at the map and muttering quietly. Zach looked to Ridgedog quickly and hid his hands behind his back. "Thank you. Now I need to make sure I know where I'm bringing the two of you because it's going on to the field testing, do you two understand?"

"Yes Versa." The two said quickly.

Ridge rubbed the back of his head. "We're…not going back to the Void are we?"

"Zachary is. You're going to a testing continent which I will be checking on. There you will learn how to spawn better and teleportation." The woman turned and leaned on the table. "Sound fair?"

The grey haired elf smiled and nodded. "I've heard about the Void but you've yet to take me Versa." He glanced at Ridgedog who shivered. "I know he doesn't like it."

"It's cold…" Ridge shook his head. "I know I don't need it but I'm going to get some rest in my room." He smirked hopping up and leveling out his flight before giving a short salute. "See you all soon!" He flew out the door.

Lalna blinked after him. "Well he's changed since I saw him last."

"Yeah it's a wonder he hasn't spent all that much time with you Lalna." Versa gave a small smirk making the blond laugh. The two missed Zach look around before followed after the other student. "Don't rub off on him too much…"

"I suppose I won't, considering the training you're going to be doing." He sighed, sitting on the couch before reaching to his neck and touching the small cord he had nearly forgotten was around his neck. He took the necklace off kissing the ring on the end of it.

"Lalna..." He looked up to his partner who had a sympathetic expression. "You know I'd help you still if I could…"

"I know Vers…I'm not blaming you. I'm just…going to miss them is all…" He sighed and instead of putting the cord around his neck again he pushed it into his pocket as he stood up. "So where to?"

"Center court. Sophos wanted another meeting with us before Albinus and I went to train our students."

Lalna blinked. "He managed to get a new one?"

"Oh…no, no. Still Nilly. She's…really struggling with the alignment…" She sighed, looking down. "That poor girl has a bigger tablet than I ever had to give Voxel during his training…" She shook her head. "Either way, we need to head there. And since my two boys are off – wait where'd Zachary…? Nevermind…let's just head to the court and I'll track him down…again…"

Lalna followed his partner through the corridor, stepping into the room. They weren't the first one's into the room - nor were they last. Sophos sat on his heightened chair, whispering to Dave as he leaned over to speak to him. The blond frowning as the two stepped up to the table. Sophos sat up, looking over those at the table. Lalna blinked, looking around before looking to the one at the head of the circular table.

"Albinus isn't here yet?" He asked curiously, making the dark haired man frown and close his eyes. Lalna put his hands up. "Woah, no need to get testy, I just wanted to ask..."

"First of all, Knife." Lalna frowned at the choice in names. "Don't speak to me at this moment. I had a meeting with Dave about some of the students and decided to allow for some pre-testing of two new students."

Versa frowned, taking her eyes from the neutral party's door. "Shouldn't we be waiting for Albinus to get-."

"I will tell him once he gets here Versa." His eyes narrowed, looking up as the middle door opened. "Which it would appear our observer has finally arrived."

"I apologize. Nillemera had gotten into a precarious situation with her shadow and I had to train her on how to prevent it again." Albinus said, brushing the last remnants of what looked like yellow glitter from his dark robes. He pulled out a black notebook. "Please, continue."

"Our first act at the table is reassignments." He looked between Lalna and Dave. "Knife is to be reassigned to Dave for the remainder of -."

"Lalna." Lalna frowned. Sophos's eyes narrowed, looking to the blond who was next to Versa.

 "My name is Lalna, Sophos. Not Knife."

Sophos's eyes narrowed further before tsking. "For the remainder of the chosen student's training. Lalna, you're to be on time to meetings and ceremonies. Dave will escort you, as Versa did."

"Am I allowed to leave the court?" The blond asked hopefully.

"Do you feel you'll make it to the meetings on time with your current watch?" Lalna looked away quickly, grumbling. "Then you're to stay within the court's walls or with Dave." He looked to Albinus, the shadow walker glancing up and motioning with his hand to continue as the pen moved across the book that was floating next to him. "Our next order of business is the training. We have set up a test continent and we're to send the students - to be watched over by their teachers - and prospective students -."

"Prospective?" Albinus frowned, his pen pausing a moment.

"We're giving Lying of the Twilight a test to see how he handles working with the mortals on the test continent while Ridgedog, Nillemera and Zachary work above." Sophos almost snapped at him. "While I too have chosen a student and plan to send him along with Lying."

Lalna scoffed. "Sophos? Teaching. This is something I've got to -." He grunted feeling Versa's elbow in his side. He gave her a quick look, flinching at the glare she gave him. "Continue..."

"Does that sound reasonable to you, Albinus." Sophos held his staff, seemingly glaring the man across from him down. Albinus's expression didn't change, looking at him a moment before bowing his head. Sophos set his staff down over his lap again before nodding. "Then it's decided." He grabbed his staff again and hit the ground. "Court adjourned."

Lalna sighed pulling the silver pocket watch looking at it. "Lalna it'll be ok"

"I know I'll catch you later Vers." He said heading out and towards their room.

As time passed Lalna grudgingly followed after Dave. "Move your ass Knife we're supposed to be meeting the others at the test continent." He heard the man yell as followed behind him.

"I don't have a student why do I have to go?" Lalna whined loudly. Instantly he shut up as he felt a dark presence behind him. 

"Because Albinus believes this needs all of our attention." He heard the dark tone of Sophos behind him.

He looked to see Versa and Albinus walk up to them Ridgedog talking to them very quickly. He blinked seeing the long dark red almost brown coat he was now wearing.

"Alright Shadow walker why have you summoned the five of us?"

"Ridgedog tell the council what you told us." Albinus said  and the man nodded.

"There has been a strange occurrence with a mortal. He crashed here in some kind of metal egg." He explained. "A dwarf who ran away from Khaz Modan rescued him. The power that emits from him is nothing like I've felt."

"Can it be from one of the evils?" Sophos asked frowning more.

"No sir I don't believe so. He has no concept of our world and couldn't even speak with the dwarf until he tapped an emblem on his shirt." The auburn man continued. 

"Watch him and the dwarf. Make sure they do not stay dead understand?"

"But Sophos that could upset the balance of you ensure that two mortals can't die for good." Versa exclaimed.

"That's your job to bring the balance just make sure these two do not die. I want to observe them and see what threat this new creature brings." Sophos said his staff glowing. "Are we clear?"

"Yes of course Sophos." Versa said sighing slightly. Lalna glanced behind him hearing a voice. 

"Friend how do we stop this?"

"I don't know...I think I kind of like it." Lalna blinked chuckling. 

"I'm guessing that's them in that cave?" He asked pointing towards the voices. Ridgedog nodded. 

"I don't sense anything but keep observing them." Sophos said and the man nodded.

"Well it's been fun but I'm going to head back..." Lalna said rolling his eyes.

"And where do you think you're going without Dave?" Sophos asked looking to him.

"I know how to teleport to the council. Your boyfriend has work he was talking about and I want to get back to this new book. I'm a big boy anyway." Lalna commented rolling his eyes. He teleported before they could say anything against it.
